FIG. 16: RARE CYCLOPS SHARK CAUGHT IN MEXICO: A shark pup with albino skin and a single eye was found by fishermen in the Gulf of California, Mexico, in Oct. 2011, when they cut open the stomach of its mother. The shark pup also had many internal birth defects when it was examined. Other fishermen reported finding unborn conjoined baby shark twins in another pregnant female shark in the same area. The Fukushima Japan nuclear disaster March 11, 2011, has caused widespread radioactive contamination of the northern Pacific Ocean, indicating food contamination from the Pacific is now a serious danger. The radiation map in Fig. 1 indicates heavy contamination of the Pacific Coast from Alaska through Mexico, and confirms heavy radiation exposure of the Gulf of Mexico. The Pacific Islands such as Hawaii, Guam, and others are also exposed to high levels of radiation from Fukushima, poisoning critical food supplies for coastal indigenous populations in the Pacific rim region. The entire Pacific fishery can be expected to now be very contaminated.

Mainichi: Fukushima plant crisis could erupt if water injection stops for 38 hrs
TOKYO (Kyodo) -- "Tokyo Electric Power Co. has released an estimate that says if water injection at its stricken Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant stops, its fuel rods could start melting in 38 hours, causing radioactive substances to spew out.
The utility said, however, it can resume watering at the Nos. 1 to 3 reactors in three hours at the most in case the plant is hit by another earthquake and tsunami matching the scale of the March 11 disaster that caused their core meltdowns.
The estimate said the temperature of the fuel, now believed to have solidified at the bottom of the reactors' pressure vessels, would rise about 50 C each hour and reach its melting point of 2,200 C in about 38 hours...."
MAJIA HERE: The fuel is NOT in the reactor pressure vehicles.
This continual lying is becoming very aggravating. While some fuel may be still be in reactor 2 or 3, it is clear that the pressure vessels have been breached and the fuel in reactor #1 is definitely somewhere in the basement or below.
I posted a few days ago that the radiation readings in reactor 1 were at 500 sieverts an hour;
There has been considerable discussion about the hydrogen build-up at the plant in reactor 1;
Reactor 1 is obviously unstable and could, it appears, blow-up again without any interruption in the water.
I wish the disinformation would stop. I am so tired of the lies. Why cannot governments realistically and objectively discuss what is known? Why cannot governments provide objective risk - assessments?
Is the truth of the situation so bad that all governments can provide are lies and misinformation?
2011-10-04 An Unconfirmed Story From Fukushima Diary Illustrates Fukushima Horrors,
"My nephew’s urine tested positive for cesium. He lives in Suginami Ward [a suburb on the western side of Tokyo]. He forces back his tears at preschool because [his parents have told him that] he has to stay inside alone while the other kids play outside.
My sister and brother-in-law have been twice as careful as other people with the food he eats since the accident. Despite taking these precautious, cesium was detected in his urine.
When my sister and her husband found out the results of his test, they said they would go to Kyushu [in western Japan] to look for a place to live.
In my nephew’s body, the radionuclides don’t stop emitting radiation. But he is just an innocent child. People would probably rather not know, but we are in an extraordinary situation.
Apathy is no different to irresponsibility. Let’s do the things that anyone would do, as a reasonable adult, or person."
Majia here: Thyroid irregularities are being found in children from Fukushima, although these cannot be definitively linked to radiation, YET
2011-10-04 Exa-Becquerel Now In Pacific Ocean?,
...Kyodo news agency reported that:
Researchers at the Meteorological Research Institute and the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry estimated that the amount of radioactive cesium-137 that was directly released into the sea came to 3,500 terabecquerels from March to the end of May, while estimating that roughly 10,000 terabecquerels fell into the ocean after it was released into the air. [End of Kyodo quote]
10,000 tera-Becquerels is the same as 10 peta-Becquerels. We know that Fukushima continues to diffuse radioactivity in the atmosphere so 6.5 months later, this amount of atmospheric Ocean contamination could be linearly extrapolated to 25 peta-Becquerels.
So we can add this atmospheric ocean pollution to our hypothetical direct flow computed above and reach the figure of 1025 peta-Becquerels – or roughly 1 exa-Becquerels – or, if you prefer, a quintillion Becquerels (the atmospheric radioactive source being a minor contributor in the end).
At this rate of 2 exa-Becquerels per year dumped into the Ocean, it would take 500 years to reach the next prefix, i.e. zetta-Becquerels, which is out of our life timeframe. Hence, I think that the new unit for nuclear disasters should be the exa-Becquerel – and we maybe just have reached it for the Pacific Ocean.
2011-10-05 Kobe U. Prof: Radiation is concentrating on surface — 23 µSv/hr above dirt in roadside drain far from meltdowns — Can’t decontaminate concrete or asphalt, must remove it all,
SOURCE: 300,000 Bq/Kg of Radioactive Cesium from Soil in Fukushima City, EX-SKF, October 4, 2011

[...] Judging from [Kobe University Professor Tomoya Yamauchi's] air radiation survey (in Japanese), this particular location looks like the one that had 23 microsieverts/hour radiation at 1 centimeter off the surface of the dirt in the roadside drain. Professor Yamauchi hypothesized that radioactive cesium from surrounding mountains and forests washes down the drain after the rain, and naturally gets concentrated in the dirt. [...]
In my communication with Professor Yamauchi, I asked if the decontamination as currently practiced in Fukushima works at all, given the non-result in Watari District which he surveyed. [...]
He also said that spraying water with high-pressure washers hardly work at all on concrete and asphalt surfaces, as radioactive cesium is now deeply embedded in the concretes and asphalt. The only way to decontaminate concrete and asphalt, the professor said, was to physically remove all concrete structures – houses, fences, pavement, etc., which he said would destroy the neighborhood. He is of the opinion that all the residents in the district should be evacuated first, with the government paying for the cost, and the experts should get to work to truly “decontaminate”. [...]

Contaminated soil found outside Fukushima no-go zone
Oct. 06, 2011
TOKYO — [excerpted] "High levels of radioactive contamination have been found in soil in the capital of Japan’s Fukushima prefecture, a study showed Wednesday, prompting calls to make the area a voluntary evacuation zone.
Some 307,000 becquerels of cesium per kilogram of soil was detected in an independent survey conducted on Sept 14 by a radiological engineering expert and citizens’ groups.
The Japanese government’s legal limit is 10,000 becquerels per kilogram...."
2011-10-06 Japan Considers Raising Internal Exposure Level for Radiation Safety,
Mainichi: Gov't panel eyes higher interim radiation exposure limit
"A government panel on reviewing radiation dose standards plans to propose that the government adopt an interim annual radiation exposure limit between 1 to 20 millisieverts for ordinary people instead of the current 1 millisievert limit, panel sources said Wednesday.
"The recommendation by a group under the panel, headed by Otsura Niwa, a professor emeritus at Kyoto University, would be employed when the government reviews provisional radiation limits for food products and soil, many of which were hurriedly set after the start of the nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant."
2011-10-07 TEPCO "Sprinking Decontaminated Water",
NHK: TEPCO starts sprinkling decontaminated water
"The Tokyo Electric Power Company, or TEPCO, has started sprinkling decontaminated water on the premises of the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
TEPCO on Friday began spraying the water onto trees cut down and piled on the plant's compound. The utility says dry trees could catch fire spontaneously.
The water was taken from facilities for temporary storage of water with low levels of radioactivity that had accumulated in the basements of 2 reactor turbine buildings. The buildings did not incur major damage in the March disaster.
The facilities contain about 17,000 tons of such water, and are filled to nearly 90 percent of their capacity."
One wonders about the reason Tepco is doing this? Is it because facilities for storing water are filled to "nearly 90% of their capacity"?
If that is the case, then this move to disperse the supposedly decontaminated water could simply contribute to spreading radiation further
Japan is alrady burning radioactive debris and spreading contamination further through the incineration.
The entire country is becoming more and more contaminated and as local politicians lie about the safety of produce, the nation's food supply is becoming more and more compromised.
The entire situation seems to be becoming more and more out of control. It is truly insanity what is happening there.
And the absence of any media coverage and testing in the US and Canada demonstrate that the insanity is a contagion....
2011-10-07 Fukushima Update: Radiation and Sickness Spreading,, October 7, 2011 Infowars Editor’s Note: There is much news regarding the spread of radiation from the destroyed Fukushima reactors and the intensifying impact on the local and regional population. Clearly this disaster is merely only beginning to unfold.

2010-10-03 2 HEPA Filters Aggregate – October 3, 2011,
"After just 53 days of air cleaning at Radiation Station in Santa Monica, California, two HEPA filters’ dust aggregate comes in at a worrisome 216.0% of background higher than normal. Even in drier climes like Southern California, which hasn’t been hit (yet) by jet stream-carried storms suffused with radioactive fallout from the triple Fukushima Daiichi meltdowns in Japan, there is measurable radiation in dust particulates breathed by millions in the Greater Los Angeles area.
10:30 pm 10-minute INTERIOR average HONEYWELL & KENMORE HEPA FILTER DUST AGGREGATE: 83.6 CPM OR 216.0% OF NORMAL HIGHER than previous background
9:45 pm 10-minute INTERIOR average: 38.7 CPM"

Mike, Great idea on the filter… I dont have any HEPA filters, but my PC’s are great dust collectors. I checked then, both are reading well above background. Inlet side (front) of my main PC that is on all the time is reading 1275 CPM!!! I placed 3 sheets of paper between the reader and the PC, the reading goes down to 728 CPM. Background is ~48CPM here.
